The paper ‘Interactive Dialogs with Logic-Based AI Systems’, authored by Tommaso Zendron, has been awarded the Best Doctoral Consortium Paper Award at the 10th International Joint Conference on Rules and Reasoning. The paper addresses the problem of lack of user adaptability in ontology-based systems. These systems answer queries efficiently, but are not able to deal with situations where additional input from the user is needed. To overcome this limitation, Tommaso presented interactive abduction: a new reasoning task that works as a generic method for interacting with ontologies in a dialog-like manner.
