Chiara, Giacomo and Tommaso at HHAI 2026

Last week, our group members Chiara Natali, Giacomo Zamprogno and Tommaso Zendron presented at the Conference on Hybrid Human Artificial Intelligence in Brussels. Chiara organised the 3rd workshop on Frictional Design in Hybrid Human Systems, where Giacomo presented the abstract “Beyond the Black Box: Designing Frictional Interfaces for Trust Calibration and Appropriate Reliance in Scientific LLMs” co-authored by Giacomo, Laura Capella and Ilaria Tiddi. At the workshop on Hybrid Intelligence for Health Care Tommaso presented the abstract “AI as a Mediator of Information: a Consent-Aware Team Design Pattern for Appropriate Trust in Healthcare” co-authored by Tommaso, Josephine Mélot Chesnel, Berke Yazan and Emma M. van Zoelen. At the main conference track, Chiara presented the paper “Emergence in Human-AI Systems”, where Hybrid Intelligence is framed as the modern-day successor to early research on cybernetics, HCI and CSCW, and emergence is considered as a methodological constraint for HI.
